Hey,

Is it possible to use the optix denoiser through mantra on the command line to batch denoise an image sequence?

Ideally I would like to be able to render the scene with mantra on a CPU farm.
Then run the optix denoise as a second task on a GPU farm taking the output of the mantra render as input.

Has anyone had any luck doing this? Trying to avoid having to compile my own standalone optix app..

Thanks in advance!

You can use them as background image on the camera (and set pixel filter on the mantra ROP to OptiX denoiser). Keep in mind however that the original sequence rendered on the CPU must be done using “unit box” pixel filter otherwise you won't see expected results.

Coming back to this, is there really no other way to use optix from a batch executable like renderman denoiser does?

Because this way it's kind of useless on a renderfarm (where nodes definately dont have or can fit gpu's)
