Re this tutorial. [

Page 50, steps 6 and 7, about getting the patch values to display in the viewport. I'm sure I've followed the steps, however I don't see the values.

I think attributes are case sensitive so if in your attribute create you typed “Patches”, type the same in the “Edit visualizer” window

Did you ever solve this problem? I am stuck at exactly this point, even bearing in mind case-sensitivity.

I too have the exact same problem., did anyone solve this. It would be nice if there was a wee bit more support trying to get through the manual/ first tutorials. Have followed everything to the letter but see no numbers

Just ran through it and it worked fine (18.5.408). Post your HIP file if you are having trouble and I can take a look.

I also can't make this patch marker to work.
The value "@primnum" looks a little too abstract compared to the rest of this fine tutorial.

In another case I also have the error "Local variable 'primnum' not found."

Hi,
I had the same problem with the markers not showing up, but somehow I managed to view them.
When creating the marker, I left the class set to "Auto".
I am not sure if this is really a solution, because the behavior is not consistent, but it's something to try out. Another thing that helped was to leave the default names in place (attribute1, vis_marker_1, Marker 1). At one attempt, closing and reopening Houdini also helped. So I don't know what causes the issue, but mostly leaving Marker Class to Auto showed me the correct markers (I am saying "correct" because, at some point, it displayed "-1").
