I’ve set up a sim where I take the velocity from a FLIP sim, copy geo to those points, and feed everything into an RBD sim to get that nice flowy motion with collisions. The sim itself works fine, but I’m running into issues when trying to instance the objects onto points in Solaris.
Originally, I imported the entire sim and didn’t know how to assign different materials to each instanced object. I posted about that elsewhere and someone recommended using the LOPs instancer workflow instead of just copying to points in SOPs and importing that. I followed a tutorial, and everything seems connected properly, but the instancer just isn’t working—it’s clumping everything into a big ball for some reason.
If anyone has resources that explain this workflow clearly, or if you happen to know what might be causing this issue, I’d really appreciate the help.
I also have another question—does the instancer automatically use the orientation and other point attributes so that the instanced objects behave correctly? I'm a bit confused about how that part works. Right now, I’m bringing in the objects using a reference nodes, merging them, and plugging that into the second input of the instancer. Ideally, I’d like it to work just like it does at the SOP level.
Apologies if this is confusing—I tried to keep it short. I’ve also attached my project file if anyone wants to take a look.
Thanks in advance!
