Problem with Shadow Matte & shadows passing through obje 2010年4月28日15:54
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a shadow pass, but only rendering the shadow from one object, not the environment as well. I've set up a shadow mask in the light's parameters to only affect a single object, which works to some extent, however now the shadow seems to pass straight through all of the objects. Is there anyway to render the shadows from a single object, but not have this effect?
I've attached a few renders and the scene file which might help make my problem clearer.

Sink object to simulate smoke leaving open window 2009年11月28日10:56
I was looking through the documentation for the sink objects and it says that you can simulate smoke leaving an open window (which I'm guessing means it is actually sucked out), but for me, the sink object just removes smoke it comes into contact with, it doesn't draw smoke towards it. How can I achieve this effect?

Changing the near clipping plane doesn't seem to help unfortunately.
I also tried changing the advectbyvolume node to advect position instead of velocity (maybe it's to do with the particle getting velocity information from the dop network? I don't know too much about this stuff so I'm only guessing ¬_¬), and that seemed to help a little. However I've now lost the handy velocity blend slider so I've got less control. (Probably unrelated but now mantra fails to render at all, getting stuck on “creating attributes”. It's not going too well today!)
If anyone has any more insight on this, I'd be very pleased to hear it!
