Hi Mo,
How did you get redshift working under 17.5? Does it support yet? I tried to manually set the env file pointing to the last houdini version available and I get a 127 error saying that it can't load a dll because is intended for an other version of houdini. Did you use a beta version of redshift?
According to redshift documentation, it seems like "Houdini 17.0.506: From Redshift 2.6.36 to the last available" is the currently supported one. Am I doing anything wrong?

Heyhey,
I had access to a pre-release version of Redshift for this one. In fact as of now a public version of Redshift for H17.5 has yet to be released. Keeping my fingers crossed it's gonna be there soon. The RS guys are usually a quick bunch.

Perfect, is great to have a tutorial in advance and to know that I was not doing anything wrong! We will have to wait a bit more, it's fine... just one more thing.
Did you played with volumes? Is the new "gpu accelerated volumes in viewport" working when using redshift materials and lights? In H17 I felt like the viewport was "not so nice" when using redshift, so I'm afraid maybe this new feature won't be supported by redshift plugin yet...

haven't tried out volumes yet, so I cannot comment on that functionality, sorry :(

Haven't used third party rendering before or distributed rendering, so it might be weird question, but can you continue working in your project on other assets while the renderfarm finishes?

Yes, working in your setup while the farm is rendering is possible using PDG.
