Sprites = Pink Squares

Hello,
Houdini 9.1.244
Using a “Sprite”node & a “Sprite SHOP”, I attempted to plug a texture in
My result is very girlie pink squares
simple fix for this or is it a apprentice limitation?
any input is appreciated,

That lovely pink color is what Mantra will output to a surface when it cannot find/load an image file. Make sure your file path is valid and readable.

the Pink color IS lovely, but I wonder if another image might better serve to indicate to people that ‘something went wrong’.
… Like the mandril, or Chuck Norris perhaps …
