hello iam on a mac book pro c2d 2.0ghz running snow leopard.the first time i installed houdini it went properly and managed to license it .i was doing some python work but i found 2.6 buggy so i tried to install the old 9.5 that install failed ,so i uninstalled it ,but when i decided to run 11 it i get this error
ERROR:Couldn't open Fuse 11.0.446.9/Fuse_ColorOptions.ui for reading. No such file or directory
how do i fix that because i tried reinstalling it a few times and now the installer fails towards the end saying to contact manufacturer even whne i try to ignore that and start the houdini to license it the necessary software isnt there.i saw another thread talk about hqueue but i had not installed it at any one time coz right now i am still learning houdini and i am not keen on reinstalling an entire OS and numerous software just to get houdini running again.can anyone help thanks
and as a second question how do i revert houdini 11 to use python 2.5.thank you for that also.

Was the bugginess you found in python 2.6 in Houdini 11 & python, or just with Python 2.6?
If you're getting an error like that, try deleting your houdini folder in your home directory. Then re-run houdini.
I don't know if it will work on the mac (I know it does work in linux, but not in windows), but if you run the terminal shortcut from the Houdini folder in the mac, this will start houdini with the proper houdini environment variables. Then run the following in your shell:
export HOUDINI_PYTHON_VERSION=2.5
If it's setup to work on the mac, this will change the python to be used to 2.5.
Also, it's good to spend some time searching the forums (here and on odforce) as well as spending time reading the docs. It's hard sometimes, because it seems like that won't help; but it will decrease the time it takes for you to solve problems, both now and in the future.
