Greetings.
My project:
I want to create a calm pond of oily water with mud-like crust floating on top of it. There will be an animal, who is trying vainly to get out of it, creating some sort of disturbances (ripples) and splash (oily water) and pushing the mud-like crust away from him in the process.
There will be bubbles rising to the surface, creating ripples on the surface and pushing the mud-like surface away.
1) Finding the perfect solution for my splash FX:
So my first task is too find a fluid solution to do splash of oily water coming out of the intersection between the animal and the water surface.
As you can see in my video, i did some tutorial on cmivfx with the volume fluid solution.
I have included both a still image and my flipbook for reference.
First, i loose details where there should be small droplets, mostly around the middle rocks. The fluid geometry also seem to disapear in midair. I have tried raising the uniform division. I get more finer details, but still losing some in the process. And remember, my goal is to make splash so i'm afraid by using the volume fluid solution, i'll loose detail on my splash.
Second, i get small strange artifact at the surface as seen on the images, circled in red.
Third, i would like to smooth out my geometry, like the filter setting in reaflow. I find my surface kind of beefy, i would like to thin her out? Any hint on how to do it?
Finalky, do you suggest trying the other fluid solution of Houdini ( SPH or Flip), for that kind of effect.
Thanks for answering.
Trying to find the perfect fluid solution for my need!
