Hi all,

I had this idea for a while for working inside 3d apps, and I think it's pretty useful. The idea is to overlay potentially any pane onto any other pane. But in practice I am talking about overlaying panes like network pane, and parameters pane, etc onto the scene view pane, either temporarily or permanently with user-controllable opacity.

For instance, you are working on some particles, and you invoke this command to overlay a semi-transparent version of the network pane onto your current scene view, and there you can just edit the nodes, change the parameters, and watch the behavior through the overlayed pane.

This would really be another cool way to work inside Houdini, which isn't really meant to be used all the time, unless you prefer. So that's why it's more of an expert mode, you toggle when you think you can use it to maximize your working space.

You can even have another hotkey that works in this mode which when held down, would remove the overlayed pane temporarily when you wanna look at the result more clearly.

What do you guys think? 8)
