I'm considering to invest in a solid and REALLY durable solution (portable or not) to get into Fx and rendering with Houdini, because maybe I will not have this opportunity anymore (familly projects…). Even if the price doesn't matter, if I can get best results with some “gtx” card than “quadros” for exemple, I will go with that. What I want is something really fast and the best compatibility with the software.
