Thanks Jordi!
Not a eXSIer but I am a little selfishly excited about how all of this unfolding.
As a seasonal fx artist and used to be generalist , I can see how houdini is on the loop of
king of fx and only attracting fx people. Now with this , I hope we get some fersh outlook on modeling and animation side of houdini improving.

I was initially disappointed with blend shapes in houdini until I was able to understand it better. It is a whole lot more flexible than maya, and seems to approach the awesome setups that pooby was able to do in ice. I'd love to attempt some of his facial ice setups in houdini, just to see how far I can get with simple expressions and vop sop perhaps.

Well, as promised yesterday did my first little batch, rough on the edges but hope it decent.
I would love to know if it is hitting the right spot and if you miss something… of course I will find my voice as I go along but wanted to put together something quick.
I tried to upload but the limit of 5Mb is too much so I will be using Dropbox for the time being.
For the Houdini guys out there, remember these are initial guide for Softiamge people, I am fully aware they all will surely evolve into a more houdini mentality of setting up scenes so please don't cringe if you see weird things, I would love your feed back though.
Enjoy

Thank you Jordi for the effort. That it is a very valuable contribution. Can I link this PDF in my blog? http://blog.zao3d.com [blog.zao3d.com]
Maybe I will translate it to Spanish for my students to do my little contribution.

I had forgotten how fun it is to learn new (GOOD) software. It is such a releaf (having to use Max //throwing up emoticon// at work). This reminds me a bit of learning Nuke (not because of the nodes, but the good design).
Thanks again for taking the time to do this… As i whait for the rest of this, might as well look at some SideFX videos…
Have a good weekend
