Does any one else get crashes almost every time they open the vex builder desktop? 4/5 times when I open it Houdini segfaults.

I have never had a problem.

Have you tried reinstalling?

What is your system and OS?

winxp sp1 and houdini 5.5.230, but I have this problem with all of the previous versions as well

it could be a bad Desktop….
close Houdini and rename the VEX_Builder.desk in your $HOME/Houdini5.5/desktops/ to VEX_Builder.desk.BAK….I think this will force Houdini to recreate the desktop from the one in $HFS/houdini/desktop…
