I don't think the list of Quadros on the graphics cards page has been updated since the P4000 was released. It should work with Houdini.

Is something not working with that graphics card? If so, what's not working? Can you describe the set of steps that cause the problem? What driver version are you using? What operating system? If it's Windows 10, what updates do you have? (We've had some problems with Windows 10's automatic updates silently installing bad graphics drivers.)
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.

Alright, that's good to know, thanks.

No problems, just didn't see the P4000 on the list of supported graphics cards.

Just finished testing it and we've added it to the supported graphics card page.

Hi, how about the p2000? Is there a reason it's not included in the list of supported gpu's?
Thanks!

Has anybody tried P2000 or P1000 with Houdini?

A better question would be why wouldn't any recent pascal based nvidia card not work with houdini?

I get it that buying a quadro card means dropping a lot of money and one wants to ensure their investment works. But in that same token the money you are dropping should inspire confidence given the universal industry recommendation and support of nvidia cards especially their professional line. I mean studio wise 90% of the graphics cards being used are nvidia.

I really think the only thing one could comment on would be related to a specific requirement such as opencl performance in relation to data sets involved.

Hi!
I've been using a PNY Nvidia Quadro P2000 for a couple of months, and I haven't had any issues with it yet. It's working properly. I mean if I open task manager during processes, it shows up to 100% usage for houdini.

Just be careful when ordering a quadro. My first one (Leadtek) came in a big box with no signs and no protection. The included cd and manual (and probably the card itself) was also damaged. I sent it back, and ordered a new one from a more reliable company: PNY. It came in an original package (with a few scratches on the box) with a bit more protection for the graphics card, but it's still not as soft/premium as the gtx series's boxing. I would expect more safeguard for something that expensive and sensitive. ((I bought them from local retailers.))

The thing I'm most interested in about any Quadro P4000 or Quadro RTX 000's equivalent and up is, do we really get better drivers with these cards in linux or would that be the wrong reason to purchase a quadro?

I experience painfully unreliable viewports and open gl rop rendering with 2 different 1080 TI's in houdini. is my experience going to be any better with a P5000? Are the quadro drivers really giving me anything?

Things have gotten better generally in houdini, but theres still plenty of times viewing a packed/unpacked poly object seems to bug out and draw a tonne of vertices at world 0 and the only way to make it go away is force a recook on the node.

Thanks if anyone could shed light on this!
