UVTexture on a Grid is Backwards.

I have a simple grid object and I add a UVTexture node. The UV map seems to be backwards.

Can someone explain why this is, how to fix it, and does it matter?

Here is the grid and the uvtexture properties.

Try setting the V scale (the 2nd component of the Scale parameter) on the UV Texture SOP to -1. That seems to reverse it back.
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.
