openGL textures/ caching?

Just curious about this one. I have to profile it myself to see what the differences are, but really ..

IF you are referencing an image (lowrez .jpg) to be used in the ogl_tex parameter for a shader… via the opdef of the OTL in question… does the image get “cached” any differently from an image being read from disk?
