Hi,
I am passing a primitive string attribute (containing paths to textures) to a VEX surface shader applied to a number of mesh primitives. Each primitive has a different texture path as its string value. I would like to interactively view these textures in the VEX Shaded viewport, but I've not been able to achieve this.
I know the connections are working because the textures appear on the right primitives in a Mantra render, but they all appear black in the VEX Shaded viewport.
I have tried applying the VEX shader's SHOP to the object's surface shader variable, and as the surface shader of a Shader operator within the geometry object, but neither has any effect.
Can someone recommend a solution or course of enquiry to help establish the cause of the problem? Is this even possible? Please tell me if I need to provide more information.
Any advice appreciated with thanks,
Ian
