Hi everybody,
I have very poor knowledge in simulations and solvers.
Is it possible to use smoke solver (or flip solver etc) to do things like wind tunnels in Houdini and have the geometry fully interact with the flow? How good would be the precision and accuracy?
Is Houdini good enough to replace software like ANSYS or Abaqus for very simple sims that does not require extreme precision?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid nature of my question.
Using Houdini as Simulator Instead of Simulation Software

I agree with malkrus but how simple are we talking about? If you want to know whether air flows out of a box with a hole or something of that nature it is surely sufficient. At one point precision will be below anything useful. The main problem I think is one of units. You basically have no idea of what you're working with in Houdini.
