Hello.

I need to automatically scale and reposition the “heightfield” (1) to the size and position of the “grid” (2).

You can use a matchsize node to move and scale the heightfield in X and Z, you can also set the heightfield resolution by axis so the scale down wont affect the res of the height field

After matchsize, the shape of the curve changes for some reason. Becomes rough and angular.
Why?

I was advised a solution.
After the merge node, create a new transofrm node and make a small uniform scale value like 0.00001.
It worked for me
