Dlavender I had issues with Houdini and 472,39 and had to rollback. now, C4D r25 viewport is going black or gray and blinking randomly. The answer appears to be upgrading drivers to 472.39 to resolve C4D viewport issues.
Hoping there will be a fix soon from Nvidia or SideFx. I have sacrificed two villagers which includes one that claims they're a virgin in hopes this will soon be fixed.
You can download a daily build of 19.0 greater than 421 if you need the 496 drivers, which has a workaround for this problem. As it was a rather extensive patch, be aware that there still may be some issues lurking that we didn't find.
Linux Mint 20.2 nVidia driver 495.29.05 H19.0.436 RTX2070 Super
All is fine
EDIT: Houdini instantly closes whenever I add a "Curve" or "Skeleton" SOP and start click in the 3D viewport. Don't know if it's the 495 driver's fault though.
EDIT2: OK, I went back to 470.82.01 and the crashes are gone. Looks like nVidia still has some work to do...
For info, on the nvidia geforce experience application, select the driver tab. If you click on the triple dot, we can choose to install driver called "studio driver" instead of the "game ready" driver (496.xx I don't remember). This studio driver is currently in 472.47 and it seems to be optimized for houdini 19, Vray 5, ...

May we know what exactly is/was the problem? Please. PRMAN RFH 24.2 supports 19.0.383. We have to wait until 24.3 to support H19 builds later the 19.0.383.
Hello, I've been having issues with Houdini on Linux, and I'm unsure if It's related to the drivers. Since there are no studio drivers for Linux, can anyone tell me what the latest working version is on Linux ?
I'm quite happy with the 470.82.01 drivers on Linux Mint 20.2 at the moment. The also available 495.x drivers cause all kinds of troubles with Houdini and Blender currently (most of the time Houdini just instantly closes / disappears when using specific tools).
About two weeks ago nvidia-driver 495.46-1 has migrated to Debian Sid. It might be a good time for Debian Testing users to hold the current version of the package (470.94-1) from updating, because the new one might hit Testing servers pretty soon. I'm going to skip it, just to be on the safe side.
chrism This has been sorted on our side in Houdini and was later addressed in the latest nvidia drivers. It should no longer be an issue.
Houdini 19.0.498 with 511.65 Studio drivers.
Network view doesn't update when placing new nodes. Need to exit the current node and go back in to see it placed. The issue seems to be still there.
Unfortunately it didn't work to download the old driver. Got stuck in some email advertising stuff without getting through to the download link on the nvidia site.

Houdini 19.0.455, GTX1080 Ti, Kubuntu 20.04. I had the same issues with the same driver, 495.29.05. After updating to 510.47.03, I can interactively work with the Curve and Skeleton SOPs in the viewport again, without crashing. Updated right now, not tested enough yet. But the Network view is updating normally and no other problems are observed.
