This mardini thing is really an excuse to come up with lots of short personal projects. I have modeled the swiss chalet freestyle using just a couple of pinterest references. The voxelization of Houdini heightfield has required a few hours of RnD though especially since I used COPs for shading.

I found that combining stylized modeling and shading with physical lighting is much more fun than traditional photorealism. (I dream of a NPR toon or manga render engine inside Houdini)
