Rising Sun Pictures, one of Australia's leading vfx specialists, is currently seeking experienced and talented R&D software developers to support artists in fulfilling shot directions. They will design, develop, document and support tools ranging from general workflow enhancement to developing procedural animation and rendering solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

* Experience with programming / scripting languages (for example: C++, Python, Mel, HScript, etc.)
* Experience using 3rd party libraries (for example: Maya Api, Houdini HDK, OpenExr, STL, Boost, game engines, etc.)
* Understanding and experience with rendering, compositing or procedural animation concepts
* Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks
* Ability to work well in team atmosphere
* Preferably a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Animation, Engineering, or a related field - but pure talent counts!

Desired but not Essential:

* Experience using Maya or Houdini in an artistic position
* Experience writing shaders

Working on a feature film, these roles will be based in Sydney and are scheduled to start in August.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
