Hi, I am fairly new using houdini and trying to figure out the best way to approach this.
So what I have done is created a USD file with 18 variants using the component builder and was able to use the instancer to scatter them randomly to the points. In the instancer I created a simple pop net to simulate the particles. The result was not what I wanted because the geometry would use the instance point(as opposed to the convex hull) for collisions and poke through the objects they were colliding with.
So I though, okay then I could use a rigid body solver but I can't figure out how to reference in the USD variants to the sopCreate/DOP net in solaris. Is this possible?
I ended up putting it all together in the obj context just to get it done in time but I wanted to see if there is a way to take advantage of the USD variants for this.
