It's yet again a pleasure to participate, thanks to everyone for making it happen.
This year I wanted to create only animations, and it's a whole different piece of cake. I had to skip 2 days with a still when morale were too low and I was running out of time.
Yet again this month taught me so much.
Copernicus is my new home now, with just a few upgrades it might completely outclass any other texture creation toolset.

Thank You SideFX for running this great learning experience called Mardini! Congrats to all the winners and especially to those that submitted everyday! I have been very inspired by seeing all the great work being done. I learned I have a lot to learn - some of the new tools are amazing and Copernicus has so much potential. I will be continuing to grow my skills and looking forward to next years Mardini!

This year was so different than last year for me. I can't believe I have done this Mardini while moving to the UK. I didn't learn much but I upgraded my skills and efficiency and I can clearly see an improvement from last year. My submissions felt more complete and polished especially from a LOP and rendering point of view. Also this year was my first year using GreyScaleGorilla. The textures were so helpful. I used it for every entry. Glad I participated again!
I'm a bit sad that we lost the daily node video from Moeen, found those really useful and great for inspiration.
Congrats to everyone who pushed it to the last day! Congrats to every challengers that submitted great entries! I really love this community! And of course, big thanks to SideFX for the amazing work and being the best software and company out there!
Cheers! And see you next year hopefully!

Congrats to everyone who participated, amazing work all around!
I’m happy to have joined another round of Mardini. It was a great chance to keep exploring different areas of Houdini. Copernicus was the standout for me this year, can’t wait to see how it keeps evolving.
Big thanks to SideFX, the jury, and the GSG team for sponsoring the challenge 🙌
I streamed a few lives at the beginning, so if you’re curious about how I made some of the entries, you can check out my YouTube channel. I’m also planning to do quick overviews of the remaining pieces… once I catch up on some sleep 🤣
Here’s my animated and still spreadsheet, hope you like it. Cheers!

Mardini 2025 – Completion Recap
Iron Heart Qualifier
What a month. I'm grateful to have had the chance to swim in the same creative waters as so many brilliant minds -- this challenge was a joyful gauntlet of curiosity, discipline, and procedural jazz. From toy ducks to seahorses, chrome arthropods skittering across tiled slither pads, to quantum-radio disco dancers emerging from some elsewhen... from molten memory mud and honey flowing from faraway lands to plastic puffy stickers -- each prompt offered a story, and I did my best to listen. Sometimes that worked out. Sometimes it didn’t. Here’s a look back.
This is the contact sheet for my Mardini Iron Heart journey: thirty-one entries, each a signal, each a step toward better craft. I’m thankful for all the inspiration and camaraderie. Here’s hoping we do it again sometime.
With respect and love,
