How do I go about using Internet Explorer or any other web browser, as the default,in place of the built in mozilla browser?

I copied the URL from the help browser in to the address bar of Internet Explorer after waiting more than a minute for the browser to retrieve a page. IE had the page up with pictures before text appeared in the help browser.
The only trouble I see with this is the icons at the left of each line item now partially covers the links, otherwise it works fine.
