why line “A” is continuos and “b” not?

The dotted line shows that the input was used as a “reference” and the input's data is not really copied.

The Scatter SOP uses its input to tell it how to scatter the points, it does not copy the geometry. But yes, the Scatter does create points which inherit the point attributes of its input.
