Dear Readers,
I've been running into some issues with Materials that are generated by a COP Render Output node (Not the Render node, but the COP Output to a file). I've been trying to use the .pic and/or the .tga that I generated from a Ramp COP but this has led me to some unexpected results.
First, the material does not update in the viewport when I rotate, scale, or offset the material's decal attributes. I have to render each time to see what happens.
Second, the offset does not correspond with what is rendered (in other words, if I shift in X, it actually seems to rotate the ramp image).
Finally, although I have enabled an alpha channel in the ramp for one of the colors, the decal seems to ignore the alpha channel and when I click on the white box in mplay it shows the entire geometry as opposed to reflecting that some of the geometry did not/should not have rendered because of the alpha (making sense?).
So, I need a good tutorial on how to properly apply materials and use them in the most fundamental way, without having to build a custom VEX material which is beyond my scope at this stage.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
markerline
