When I startup Houdini I get a Fatal Error immediately. This is what I get: Fatal Error: data saved to /tmp/myname.53772.hip

Is there a /tmp/crashlog_<username> file? Could you post the contents?

Which version of OSX are you running, and what hardware are you using (ie, 2009 MacBook Pro, Early 2008 Mac Pro with Nvidia 8800 graphics, etc)?

My OS is 64bit Snow Leopard. The machine is a 2008 2.4 Ghz iMac with 4GB and an ATI Radeon HD 2400.

Ah, try a version of Houdini 11 that's build 470 or higher. You can find the daily builds on this page (scroll down a bit). Latest build is 498.
