Beginner multiik Question

Hi, I am a total noob. I'm thinking about multiik and was wondering what should go into root parent.

On a joint hierarchy that goes hip -> cog -> pelvis I've noticed I could make the rootparent parm either:

1. blank
2. cog
3. pelvis

And it behaves similarly. Is there a more correct way? And if it is blank, what becomes the parent? Just parented to world?

Yes, notice that hip_R_leg_R_ik_rest_global_scale_comp is no input, which means it is using the world space matrix that the component put in there. To help, turn on the Visualizer > Highlight Added Nodes toggle on the APEX Autorig Component SOP.

I guess the question about whether pevlis joint, cog joint or no joint (world) should be the rootparent is probably subjective... The only reference I have been learning from is ye olde Simple Female so I'll take a peek at how they do it.

Note that there is Test Geometry Electra SOP, set its output to APEX Scene.
