I know its is possible to use a paint SOP to paint say Red onto an object then use a local var Cd to extract the Red value on any given $PT and then copy geometry onto a point based on the Cd vale .
Cd uses Red / Green / Blue chanels. Is there any way of painting geometry and then creating attributes using a colour for position other than just painting in 3 channels
I was thinking along the lines of just being able to paint in 8 colours and then being able to create 8 attributes using the colour of the $PT to define the location of geometry to be attached via a copy SOP.
Would this be a good approach and if so what sort of variable could I use ?
