I must admit I am finding that caching a sim in DOP's is quite a hash , rewind press play etc.
I have had a go at making an otl that would render out your sim using a DOP ROP , then a file DOP reads in the sim. but alias the whole tool does not seem to work well ,It renders the sim but when I check a “use sim” toggle I loose all my geometry from the screen. The set up seems to work just using the nodes when they are not in an otl. Although I do find I have to have the rop dop selected to render out the data.
So I would love to know why it will not work correctly ! and what can be done to make the whole sim situation a bit more user friendly with some work flow suggestions. Doing small tests by rewinding and pressing play is fine on a sphere but useless for large scale shots in production !
