Does anyone know of any issues with running houdini on Xubuntu?

I am having some serious lag problems when running in Xfce. If I switch to fluxbox on the same system, all seems fine.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to run in Xfce or has seen similar issues?

I used to run xfce since I prefer the window manager greatly over metacity. However, I switched away about a year ago due to focus issues that I couldn't come to grips with. I'm now running gnome with the sawfish WM.

Did you try turning off any window manager effects in xfce?
