I noticed that if I place geometry close to the environment light emitter, which is immovable, it acts like a point light and lights my object directly and also messes with the shadows.
Not sure if this is intended or not? I wanted to raise it because I expected the light would be invisible to the scene (except, obviously, for the environmental lighting ).
