Hi all,
Just started playing around with Apprentice last night on my laptop. I have an nVidia GT 540M graphics card. I was wondering if anyone had put together a settings guide for optimal performance with Houdini. The card ships with some pre-canned settings for well know apps but did not include Houdini products.
For example, when I first fired it up, I was warned by Houdini that my 4x anti-aliasing would cause some problems so I cranked it down.
I was just wondering if there were any other ‘gotchas’ like that.
Also, I was wondering if it would be better to set it to use my graphics card for physics or the CPU. I mean, I know the card will be much faster, but I was wondering if it is compatible.
One other unrelated thought:
The tutorial videos I've watched so far are amongst the best ones I've ever seen for any software product. Kudo's to whoever put those together.
Optimal settings for nVidia
