Im looking to create this space scene seen here:

Now I know its gonna take some work and learning, but I dont know where to start in Houdini.Can some one point me in a good direction with tutorials, or which steps Im going to have to take to get to that point. I dont expect it to be easy, I just need to know what direction I need to head.

break the shot down into it's simplest parts….
then work on just those small things…
putting it all together is pretty easy…

if you plan to have a meteoroid in your scene like miguel's, i would suggest making that first.

Scan the forums, there are a lot of threads related to generating and texturing rocks.
I would start by searching on odforce.net!
