Opacity and Z depth (along with rendering to mplay).

Hi All.

Still sorting though issues I encountered while creating my cookoff entry. The good news is I'm now down to minor niggles.

#1. If I want to render a frame directly into mplay (so as to check image planes), I set the appropriate ROP to:

Output Picture: ip
Output Device: Infer from filename
Valid Frame Range: Render Any Frame

But all I get when I hit render is two empty instances of MPlay popping up. Creating a new ROP doesn't help. I can render to disk and then load the file into Mplay to check buffers, but it's, well, irritating :-).

#2. Rendering a depth (Pz) buffer, opacity is being figured into the calculation. Is there a way to render the RGB using a surfaces opacity of .5 but have the Pz buffer regard the figure as 1?

Any help appreciated, I'm stumped!
