Learning Houdini (on Windows), I am working on a Ocean Tool ( another one).

I was very frustrated about Mantra crashing with this comment : “Command Exit Code: -1073741819”.
Diving in deep despair I tried to check all my nodes and link them REALLY properly. A lot of newbies, like me, have heard and read that there is no need to link systematically the position and normal inputs of a shader or displacement node.
In theorie it's true but it makes Mantra return an error from time to time.
Since I linked Postion and Normal inputs everywhere it is needed, my shader looks to work nicely ( “looks” because my sequence is calculating now but the frame where Mantra was crashing was already rendered).

For all Windows user dealing with mantra crash, please let me know if this tip works for you.
