Hi All,
The instance container calculates objects with displacement shaders as full point instancing. So all the geometry being instanced gets loaded into ram.You also cannot render in the same ROP two instance procedural containers.
So what would happen if you make a mix of using the instance() attribute to load some points designed to load objects with a displacement shader and the rest getting a simple shader that would normally be calculated as fast point instancing.
How does mantra and the instance procedural handle this. Will you still get the advantage of some fast point instancing calculated or will everything get calculated as full point instancing and loose the speed advantage. ?
I am asking this as I want to maximize the efficiency for rendering some massive data sets.
