Probably a stupid question but…
How do I save out an asset in the OTL format?
When I right click and save something as a Digital Asset it saves as a .hdalc
I'm using Houdini Indie 14.
Many thanks

arctor
you could try just renaming the asset:
myAsset.hda > myAsset.otl
and see, I think it will work
Yes, this actually does work. I tried directly saving it as a .otl directly from H14, and it was not importable into H13.
Saving a digital asset from H14 as a .hda, then renaming it in a file browser to a .otl does seem to work when I import it into H13.
Can't say I quite agree with the way they changed things here…
I did my tests with 14.0.201.13
Has anyone else tried importing otls from H14 into H13 or lower?
As a freelancer that has a suite of tools I bring from studio to studio, this makes building tools in H14 kind of useless, because not all studios use the latest version of Houdini (ie: some still use H13)
