I'm starting out trying to get the hang of the pbd and granular sheets and strands.

What are some of the ways to pin (or constrain) certain sets of points to animated geometry?

For example, attaching a flag to a flag pole that is being waved around, or chains holding up a swing on a swing set.

How would this be done? The tutorials show how to drop disconnected thing on a sphere (which is cool), but what if I want to attach an edge to some moving geometry?

Set “mass” attribute to 0 for the points you want to pin. This works as a hard constraint. For soft constraints you need to set “targetP” and “targetstiffness” attributes. Do check out the example files that ship with Houdini for PBD. Also read the help docs for better explanation.
