hey
It wont assign PolyExtude to a hotkey, when using CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+LMB, the rest of the shelf items assigned just fine…but dont work in viewport, any idea?
is there any way to edit hotkeys in txt or something, in case such thing happens again?
Oh and how to save hotkey chart to a file?
Thanks
Hotkey wont assign

I'm having the same issue and I think it's because of Use Alt Key for View Controls in the 3D Viewports setting. With it enabled the hotkeys don't work in the viewport but with it disabled they work again.
I made a video of this bug in action too (for a bug report). Ctrl+alt+v is PolySplit bound to a global hotkey from right clicking the tool and adding a hotkey to the global context. It doesn't work in the viewport with Alt navigation enabled but starts working again after it is disabled.

By chart i meant to save a hotkeys preset file
No, we only save the changes you make (they go in the file HotkeyOverrides under your houdni15.5 preferences directory). The default hotkeys are all in $HH/config/Hotkeys (all the text files in there get read in).
But by saving this HotkeyOverrides file you can effectively backup your custom hotkeys, right? I think that's what the thread creator wants to do. Or it could be something completely different.

I think this is a different issue. I can certainly understand why the Alt key doesn't work as part of a hotkey combination in the viewport. As soon as you hit Alt, you enter the view state, and the fact that you hit the Alt key is eaten up. I would sort of expect Alt-Ctrl-V to put you into the view state then do a paste operation (Ctrl-V hotkey). Though I see no evidence of it doing this in the video you posted.

I bound Ctrl+alt+v to polysplit for this video but I messed up and bound it as a global key instead of a scene view key so you don't see the tool text at the bottom. You can see the tool switch to the view tool temporarily when I press the button combination. If you bind it as a scene view key you would see “PolySplit” at the bottom so the Alt key isn't eaten, but the View tool blocks the tool execution. Anyway, this was confirmed as a bug.

thanks, you really should add an option like in 3ds max to save everything you ever customized like hotkeys, toolbars, menus, colors etc…or at least add a simple description saying where you can find the file/s that correspond to the different customizables, and then you can back it up somewhere on a different drive…

Everything like this should be in C:\Users\Username\Documents\houdini15.5 so you should be able to backup.
