Hi, I think I've narrowed down a problem I'm having between these two settings: polygon and polygon mesh.
I'm exporting the face orientations to CSV file and loading them up in UE4. For some reason, whenever the type is Polygon, the orientations are messed up. When I switch to Polygon Mesh, everything works fine.

They're not different. The choice only affects the topology of the mesh. One is a quadrangulated ellipsoid, the other is a geodesic polyhedron. Both are of the same ‘kind’ (polygons) in Houdini.
I'm not sure what you mean by the face orientations being messed up. Triangle orientation is arbitrary. The only constraint is that the winding order is consistent.
