Well.. I asked ones on highend3d.com but nothimg happaning there so I am repeating my quastion here:
Houdini and matchmovig software? I've checked a few of then and havn't found export to houdini. So how can I use data from any matchmove packege.
I assume that this is matter of “string oparations” so is it realy so hard to support houdini? Of course for big studios it is no problem… they have their own solutions.
best reg.,

Hi SYmek
as far as i know, 3d equalizer and boujou have houdini export.
There is also a great tracker (which is not yet production ready) called icarus. It had a free nc version until last week and is now developped by The Pixel Farm. Seems promising. If they get it production ready its a great alternative to boujou, and its a lot cheaper.
Hope this helps

Bascially if the tracking software allows you to output the x,y data into an ASCII format you can get it into houdini.
I found this site kind of interesting for getting data from one package into another.
http://www.heimlich.net/trackconvert/ [heimlich.net]
You just need to use the ASCII data and read it into CHOPS and rearrange it so it is Houdini friendly and your out to the races.
Of course this is a bit more complicated than it sounds but it is possible.

I've checked boujou 1.3 - it does not support Houdini in a sense of direct export to hip files. I am also familiar with Icarus but don't remember Houdini export(I will check next week).
As to ASCII files - yes I know is not so hard - just few “string operations” or play with text editor…good for one time. Unfortunately I don't know CHOPS solution…
thanks for response,
SYmek.

According to a past message on the mailing list, boujou 1.3 was reported to directly export to hip files. boujou 2 on their website says they directly export to hip. If you search the mailing list for boujou, there's many hit's there so you could try there:
