Heya everyone,
I noticed something rather obscure/strange with the polyextrude SOP this afternoon, and I'm wondering if someone could shed some light on why this is happening…
(1) In a fresh houdini session, put down a curve sop, and draw a two-point poly curve.
(2) In the 3d viewport, tab, and select polyextrude…
(3) Set the selection mode to edge
(4) Pick your curve, right click to confirm selection, and extrude….
(5) Disable “Output Front” in the options menu, and crank the “steps” (for this experiment, set it to 10, but any number seems to work…)
(6) turn on primitive numbers, and note that your original curve is primi 0
(7) put down a delete sop, and remove the curve (primitive 0)
THIS is where things get strange.
(8) put down a convert SOP, and select mesh…
I'm getting this strange bowtie-like artifact in what should be a straight-up ribbon.
Note that this only happends when one uses edge selection in the polyextrude SOP.
Any idea why this is goin' on? Is this a bug?
