Using an alembic camera exported out of Maya and bringing it into Houdini. Issue is is that we have an object moving at the same speed as the camera, but getting insane amounts of motion blur. Since motion of object is relative to the camera, we'd expect there to be little to no motion blur on object, but motion blur on anything static around that object.
Feels like the issue is along the lines of:
The alembic is sampling every camera position as if its a static camera, because there are no actual keys or transforms on the camera node and that it is transforming the upper alembic container using alembic channels.
To be clear, the way that our import camera tool works is that the end result is a camera node inside an alembic xform node which is inside of an alembic archive.
The idea to address this was to somehow bake the alembic back to keyframes so that the motion blur would work correctly again.
Renderer is Renderman, but reducing the XForm Time Samples to 0 and the GeoTime samples to 0 doesn't solve the issue.
