how do I correct weird shape OSM building data?

just wondering how other people deal with OSM building data.

some(most) of the OSM buildings come in with wonky corners and obviously need to be 90 degree.
yet using a grid to square these off would not be suitable for all buildings such as wedge shape buildings or round ones.

while basic wonky square and rectangle buildings are fairly easy to fix there are many that need more attention where the prim will be stepped and need multiple angles and curve with a road etc.(but may still need small corrections)like a strip of terraced houses that go round a corner if two edges are under a meter apart snap the edges and join the buildings or leave a passage way with at least 1 meter to walk trough. some may just need one wall that is not 90 degree as it needs to be a funny shape.

so without manually separating each type of building has anyone got any good tips for shape correction? without destroying the actual intended shape.
