FEM Tests (C4D, V-Ray)

Trying to get a handle on this FEM thing. I come from a make-up fx background so naturally I'm drawn to the potential of this fun little tool. Some of the shots included don't really work too well (the gorilla statue), but overall some success. Now I'm trying to figure out how to apply FEM to animated models. Any tutorial suggestions? Hints?
