First, I modeled the chainsaw using the plugin Modeler for Houdini, then rigged and animated it with KineFX. After that, I made an RBD simulation of titles being cut by proxy model of the chainsaw and collision trapezoid cube, which I used to direct the angle of fragments flying up and down. Then, I simulated smoke from the debris source using Axiom Solver. Titles are textured using tri-planar MaterialX shader and rendered in ACEScg with Karma XPU and motion blur on my remote server using the second available Indie license. Compositing was done in old COPs, and final touches and audio made by Aleksey Kirichenko were applied in Davinci Resolve.
