Error rendering FLIP Fluids 2016年7月7日2:50

I am getting the exact same error:

https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/45059/ [sidefx.com]

Houdini v. 15.5.480

Going to try to reinstall and see if this works.

Fluids "Error saving geometry for:" 2016年7月7日2:39

Trying to follow the manual:

Houdini v. 15.5.480

Create a geometry object in the shape you want to convert to particles.

Select the geometry object.

On the Particle Fluids shelf tab, click FLIP Fluid.

Create Geometry:

In this case just a sphere. Particles show up fine.

When I go to the render view and try to render it I get:

Error saving geometry for:…followed by the sphere path. and I don't see anything.

Same thing happens if I add a flip tank. Pretty much any time I try to import or create and object and add fluid I get this error.

Strangely even if there is another object in the scene that has no fluids, it does not render either. And the render view just gets stuck and wont render anything, stays at 0%

Obviously there are other steps involved.

Any help appreciated.

Solved it by uninstall and install latest version as of now 15.5.523

L System Lightning with origin and target 2016年5月23日6:28

Thanks, I wonder if anyone can cut to the chase and explain a node set up to target the L system to something. So if for example I want to use the lightning preset I can simply have it become attracted to a mesh. Is that possible?

And if so, in simple instructions, how do I do it?

I found a tutorial how to do this with particles. I just wonder if I can do it with an L system. That is, target it to something. Like, well, a lightning bolt does. If there is a preset for Lightning one would presume a parameter or tweak (additional node set up) exists to target it to something. That is what lightning does. It shoots out at something. The preset is random.

So is this possible?
