Freelance Houdini Artist Needed for Quick One-off Effects 2013年1月18日18:00

Hi Everyone,

I represent a small startup looking to put together a library of 50-85 houdini effects for reference. This collection will be available for sale to training sites, small studios and other emerging media companies. We're hoping to work with a variety of artists to put this together.

We're looking for a talented Houdini artist to make one-off effects that will be added to a library of hip files. Effects will range between simple destruction, fluids and particle animation. These effects are expected to take a couple of hours to a day MAX to complete. They are not by ANY means production quality shots nor will they need to be art directable. This allows for a quicker turn around time.

Examples from youtube:

Depending on the complexity of the effect, the compensation will range between 100-200$ USD per hip file. If you feel you can put together an effect of this kind in one day, then at the rate of 200$ per effect, this would be the equivalent of working at rate of 52k/year (monday to friday)

Please send a private message with a demoreel if interested.

Thanks for your time.

Houdini liquids vs realfow 2010年5月8日16:15

I have no intention of starting a vs war, but I just wanted to know from this community how houdini fluids (specifically liquid sims) compare to those generated by realflow? My main criteria are realism, speed and directability. I have a bit of free time to learn a fluids package and I'm trying to decide whether I should learn houdini or realflow. I would consider myself an intermediate houdini user and I like all the control the package provides. I just wanted to know if it was able to generate realistic liquid sims in a comparable time frame.

Thanks

simple fluid and rbd collision question 2010年5月8日16:06

Hi,
I have a very basic setup of a fluid emitter pouring into an open top cube. Under physical for both objects, I've set the bounce to 0, however, whenever the fluids hit the box, they bounce like crazy and don't settle into the container.

I've attached my simple hip file. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
