I like how the leaves are like confetti in that last shot in your video. Among the uses you mentioned, i could also see it being like a summon spell effect for a plant spirit/creature.
WIP: Fairies vs Robots 2025年4月28日17:32
So, basically everything i make ends up being Fairies vs Robots.
I am thinking to make a sh'mup-type game, where there are robots invading the forest, and you, as a fairy can fly through and beat them up and steal their powers. (maybe you can also play as a robot in a VS mode ala Twinkle Star Sprites for Neo Geo)
Maybe the robots are coming from archaic ruins through a portal to a time/place where the civilization is still active and thriving.
So... if you are like, totally into the ULTIMATE BATTLE BETWEEN FAIRIES AND ROBOTS, watch this space!

Are participants allowed to use external apps like Substance Painter for texturing and ZBrush for sculpting? I thought I'd ask since these are commonly used in a gaming pipeline. I've both sculpted and textured all in Houdini but it's still lacking compared to the alternative.
you know, i tried sculpting (in houdini) for the first time during mardini, and i gotta say it was better than i thought. It's kind of nice, too that you can make little checkpoints by putting down a new sculpt node, and then you could quad remesh (or instant meshes or whatever) when you need to change the polygon count.
...
Although maybe, i didn't figure out how to sculpt with radial symmetry.
Also, we REEEALLY could use a paint cop (especially if it could use mypaint brushes [github.com], that would be a game changer!)
